How to Miniplayer on YouTube

If you want to watch videos in the miniplayer format, you'll have to learn how to enable it in your browser. You can do this by clicking the square with an upward-pointing arrow on top-left corner of the miniplayer, or by clicking the X on the top-right corner.

Mini-player

If you're using Chrome, you probably have the option of enabling or disabling the YouTube miniplayer. The miniplayer appears only when you're on YouTube, and if you switch to another site, it will disappear. This is useful if you want to watch a YouTube video while you're browsing another tab or using another application.

To enable the miniplayer, first navigate to the YouTube player. You'll notice an icon in the bottom right corner, with a smaller square inside. Once you click the icon, a small video will begin to play in the bottom right corner of your screen. You can also access it by clicking the "i" button on the top left corner of the screen. You can't drag the miniplayer around, though, so you'll have to keep your eye on it while you're watching. This feature is compatible with most browsers and works well.

To turn the miniplayer off, you'll need to go back to the original player and click the "X" button on the top right corner of the player. You can also close the miniplayer by clicking the "X" button. When you're finished watching a video in the miniplayer, you can dismiss it to resume normal viewing.

The YouTube miniplayer has a number of options that make it easier for you to watch different videos. For example, you can choose to play a video in PiP or Full-Screen mode. Double-tapping the video will change the size of the video. You can also push the video to the edge of your screen to play it with the background audio.

Picture-in-picture

The Picture-in-Picture feature on YouTube is a new feature that lets you watch a video while using another application. Just click the picture-in-picture button to move the video into a small window that floats over your Home screen and other apps. YouTube has extended the testing period for Picture-in-Picture several times, but it looks like it's almost ready to be rolled out to the general public.

Picture-in-Picture is currently available only to YouTube Premium subscribers in the US, but it's coming to other countries as well. Google had previously said that the new feature would be rolled out to everyone in the US within the next few months. But, the company wouldn't give a date for the feature to roll out to all YouTube users, despite its promise.

Fortunately, this feature can be turned on and off as needed. If you don't want to watch the video while you switch to another app, you can turn it off in the YouTube app. If you have an Android phone, you can even switch to this feature when watching a YouTube video.

Depending on your video's format, picture-in-picture may not work on your device. The YouTube application often updates to add new features and fix known bugs. If you're experiencing problems with picture-in-picture, you should update the application.

Lock screen media controls

If you want to play a YouTube video while the screen of your iPhone is locked, you'll need to use the YouTube app's lock screen media controls. The app's controls allow you to pause and resume the video. You can also listen to the video while your phone is locked.

To enable the lock screen media controls, you need to be on Premium. Then, you'll be able to play videos with picture-in-picture mode. This feature is only available for Premium users and those outside the US. Using the lock screen media controls will allow you to resume playing videos when you're locked in PIP.

To enable the lock screen media controls, navigate to the YouTube app in your settings. You'll need to tap the profile picture icon. After that, you'll find the settings menu, where you can turn on the Picture-in-Picture feature. From there, simply turn on the toggles and the YouTube miniplayer should work just fine.

To dismiss the media controls, you can use the gear icon at the top right of the screen. This will open the expanded Quick Settings. In case the media session ends, the media controls will be dismissed from both locations.

Enabling mini-player

Enabling the mini-player on YouTube is a great feature that allows users to continue watching videos while they browse the site. It works with videos from Playlists, Livestreams, and other sources. The feature appears in a small window in the bottom right corner of the YouTube app. To enable the mini-player, go to the Settings menu and then click Enable mini-player. To disable the mini-player, simply click it to return to the main screen.

The YouTube player also has an icon called "Miniplayer". The mini-player will start playing the video in the bottom right corner of your screen. If you'd prefer to watch a video in a different window, you can also use the 'i' button on your keyboard. The 'i' icon on the top left of the YouTube player will also work. While the mini-player has many advantages, it's important to keep in mind that it won't let you browse the site with full-screen videos.

The mini-player was originally released for desktop users in 2018, and it's not yet available for mobile users. Unlike the traditional video player, the mini-player enables you to watch videos in two different windows at once - one inside the browser and one outside it. But it is not for everyone. If you're a parent and want to keep your child safe, you may want to consider disabling the mini-player on YouTube to avoid potential problems.

Disabling mini-player

If your children are using YouTube, you may want to block the mini-player. This will help you keep an eye on the videos they're watching. Disabling this feature is also part of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, which was passed by Congress in 1998. This law is designed to protect children online from being exposed to inappropriate content.

YouTube's rules for making content for kids include a requirement to disable the mini-player, which is a tool for tracking user data. This feature is particularly harmful to kids, as it can collect data from them without their consent. Besides, parents should note that YouTube is prohibited from collecting data on children under the age of 13.

To make YouTube less intrusive to kids, you can disable the mini-player on the video's description. This feature is usually disabled when a video is made for children. However, there are some exceptions to this rule. If you want to make your own videos, you can enable the mini-player by editing the settings for each video.

YouTube's mini-player is an extra piece of software that uses a small window in the bottom right corner of your screen to view your videos. When you disable the mini-player, the video will continue on the normal page, which will be much easier to view. Moreover, the mini-player will not collect user data if you disable it.

Extensions that reduce the player

YouTube users who want to enjoy their videos in a more immersive way may want to use a browser extension to reduce the player size. These extensions allow users to switch between the theater and regular view, as well as control playback speed and volume. Some of them also provide filters, themes, and extra shortcuts.

SmartVideo is one such browser extension, which optimizes the video player for your bandwidth. It also helps you watch YouTube videos without buffering. This extension is a popular choice among Chrome OS users and boasts a near-perfect 5-star rating. It works by optimizing YouTube's buffering system and enabling smoother playback.

Another great YouTube extension is one that helps you skip to the most relevant parts of a video. It uses an algorithm to figure out which parts of a video are the most interesting. This feature is similar to a recent experiment by YouTube, and an Android version is in development. However, you should be aware of the limitations of this extension, especially if you want to watch more videos at once.

The h264ify extension is another useful extension that will force YouTube to use the h264 stream instead of the MP4 stream. It also has many other useful features, such as rating preview and comment user info. It is similar to Enhancer, but with a lot of features. You can also control the volume level, and set auto-mute and stop playback.
